WordPress Accessibility Day was initially started back in 2020 and is a 24-hour global event focusing on promoting website accessibility, as well as the best practices for those managing sites using WordPress.

The event has been organised by a team of volunteers who are disability advocates with industry experience, which you can find out more about here.

Featuring over 26 presentations throughout the day, the event will take place on the 2nd – 3rd November 2022. It will be livestreamed (with captions and American Sign Language) and made available after the event at the WordPress Accessibility Day YouTube channel.

Our mission is to demystify website accessibility for WordPress developers, designers, content creators, and users so that they can more easily build websites that work for everyone, regardless of ability.

For example, this can include disabilities such as:

Although we are mainly talking about people with a disability, accessibility can help anyone. Things such as improved colour contrast, alt text or language translation can help to make a website easier to access.
